WAVE ENERGY DRINK EXPANDS SPONSORSHIP ROLE WITH TOMMY BALDWIN RACING
Franchising Opportunities and Upcoming National Product Launch Fuel Recent Success
(Mooresville, NC) October 14, 2009 – Wave Energy Drink is proud to announce an expansion of its current six-race deal with Tommy Baldwin Racing and driver, Michael McDowell to include the remainder of the 2009 NASCAR season. The company initially signed an agreement in August 2009 to take advantage of six key dates, but the success and brand exposure for Wave Energy Drink led to increased involvement.
In recent weeks, Wave Energy Drink has expanded their multi-state distribution efforts across the country. The franchise interest level and brand awareness has risen greatly as a direct result of their NASCAR sponsorship program with first-year Sprint Cup team owner, Tommy Baldwin. “The sponsorship team at Wave Energy Drink really put themselves in this position to increase their commitment to the race team,” said Baldwin. “Their alignment with our organization and the exposure that NASCAR racing brings to the table has led to direct success for new franchisees and distribution opportunities for their national product launch. I’m very pleased that we could not only be a part of this success, but helped to drive the interest level in their product,” he added.
Wave Energy Drink will now appear as the primary sponsor of the No. 36 Toyotas through the Miami-Homestead season finale on November 22,, 2009. Tommy Baldwin Racing will now also experience full branding of the race cars, team uniforms and fire suits. Wave Energy Drink also plans to make a big splash at Lowe’s Motor Speedway during the Bank of America 500 Weekend on October 15-17th. Wave will share a presence outside the race track for product sampling and giveaways. In addition, Wave Energy Drink-themed golf carts will circulate on the property with the assistance of several brand ambassadors.
Wave Energy Drink VP of Marketing Jason Wolter echoed Baldwin’s statements regarding the synergy of the two organizations. “We’ve had a lot of key components come together at just the right moment in a very short amount of time,” said Wolter. “We’ve been extremely busy behind the scenes fielding calls from interested franchisees, establishing new distributors and filling up trucks with product for our upcoming national launch. A lot of the synergy we now enjoy is a direct result of our involvement with Tommy Baldwin Racing and the loyal NASCAR fan base. Everyone here is looking forward to the Charlotte race next weekend because we have so much happening at this event.
